Re: Lazada refund system

I find it strange, that buyer will need to discuss for options when applying for refund and the final decision lies with the seller. There's no protection for the buyers. I bought the item from Singapore seller, apparently it was a China seller based in Singapore. They replied in Chinese when I tri...

Re: Lazada refund system

Is this some kind of joke when merchant sends you defective product, you request a refund, and that requires sellers approval? Why do we need their approval for sending us something that's faulty? For local sellers only (unless something changed within last few weeks). That's why I practically stop...

There are some who can truly do the math in their heads.
Like the savant from Rain Man with Dustin Hoffman.

Re: Visiting Tokyo

I took a glance at their train maps and that got me stressed out. It's confusing and I can't read Japanese. You are in much better position now than myself 15yo :) There is this google translator ("Translate") application and it has a camera option. Install it, point you phone camera at the Japanes...

Re: Visiting Tokyo

I visited Tokyo longer time ago (15y++) and had no problem using the trains, taxis etc. And it was still pre-smartphone Internet popularity era. Actually our mobiles didn't work with the Japan gsm bands if I remember correctly. And as my Japanese vocabulary extends not much beyond harakiri and sayo...

Re: Man assaulted 'good Samaritan' who tried to return phone left by mistake in Grab car, gets jail

This aggression towards the returning victim is really uncalled for. I wonder what caused the rage and assault. Feels sorry for the victim :? "The victim tried to return a phone that was left behind in a Grab car, but was brutally beaten up and left bedridden for weeks." https://www.channelnewsasia...

Re: Online-Only Banks

Agree, but I am not going to use the Revolut card as my main card (I stick to citi cash back for that). More for occasional overseas physical or online shopping, and some, controllable, safe card for my son. Very easy to register and get one. Will see how it works in real life situations.

Re: Online-Only Banks

In the past I’ve looked into cards like Revolut, YouTrip, etc… but lost interest after learning about the hoops you need to jump through. I just don’t have the inclination or talent to be a hoop jumping circus monkey. This Trust card appears to be a straightforward credit card, no fuss, no fees. Wh...

Re: Landlord entering room w/o notifying

Hello people, is it okay for tenant to install security cam in the rented room? Reason being: Landlord often visit the unit (without notifying tenant) and will enter the rooms with his spare keys, got to know abt it as housemates told us. As the unit is occupied by full female tenants, we are all w...

Re: Foreign nurse from EU

I know, not first hand though, that some of the UK pediatric nurses got hired locally as sort of high-end/quality au pairs. The rationale is for infants/toddlers to be exposed to the native langue while being taken care of. Perhaps something similar could be also done with a German nurse? If the men...
