I'm going to the States on student visa. Anyone know how much free baggage allowance do I get as a student? Is it subject to each airline carrier's baggage T&Cs or student gets extra 1 piece free by default as long as there is a valid student visa to be presented?

I've used Singtel hello card to make calls to KL and Penang, but seems the rate charges are pretty high, much higher than calling States at least. Hence thought this may not be the idea card. Any suggestions on good cards for Malaysia?
