Try the Mt. Sophia area - its near Orchard Road by Plaza Singapura. You can easily get a 1/2 bedroom for 1600.

As for Holland area, try the walkups near Holland village. I think one is called Warner Court. about 1400 for a two bedroom.

River Valley is near clarke quay and is a nice area to live in.

Honestly, I don't think you will find such a job at all. The government has made it more difficult for foreigners to get work permits in Singapore and there is no way they will grant a work permit to a foriegner for being a waiter. I disagree with the previous poster. 80K works out to be about 6600 a month. You can get your own apartment for 1200 - 2000. No need to share. For a single person, 80K is nice to live on!

Singaporeans mostly laugh when foriegners mispronounce names or locations. But don't worry about it too much. Singaporeans have had a steady influx of non-Asians since independence. They are used to working in a multicultural environment.

SAS is a great school but its far away and for kids that young, it may not be worth the long trip.
