I submitted my PR on 22nd December 2009, today I received confirmation in writing that it was successful. The date on the letter was 22nd July 2010 so it took 7 months exactly to process. The multiple times I called ICA over the last couple of months, the answer was the same, this is just how long i...

Go consult with a certified lawyer to check his view on your contract as a first step. If he agrees with your legal friend that ths contract is invalid then kiss your money goodbye and learn from this huge mistake. If there is any way forward legally then the lawyer will help you with some suggestio...

If you are not a frequent flyer (which sounds like the case) then chances are high that you will get the last choice seats as many of the frequent flyers with silver/gold/platinum status will get first choice. If you fly SIA or Cathay you can checkin online and select your seat in advance but not su...

is it the fear of being alone up in the air or the fear of the actual airlines safety record that worries you? I tend to agree that Philippine Airlines doesn't have the best record in the industry, however as pointed out it is cheaper than the premium airlines such as SIA, Cathay, Emirates etc. The ...

OK crisis averted. After loosing sleep over this I called up the restaurant booking line and spoke to their agents who tells me it should be the std 10% Service Charge and 7% GST. So the amount should have been $200 x 1.177. Seems the lady at the front desk of the restaurant does not understand math...

Depends entirely what your budget is. East Coast is a large area and like any area has old vs new condo's available. The closer to the city you are the higher the prices will go up. I have lived in Tanjong Rhu for last 3.5 years and can say it is the perfect place in terms of proximity to city, shop...

Citi has some very strange policies which to me at the time seem extremely frustrating. I have been HSBC in SG for last 3.5 years, no issues. However it seems everywhere you eat in SG there are signs for discounts when paying by Citi Credit Card. So in the end after having swearing to myself I would...

Is 2010 a good year to buy condo?

OK so I have been here in SG for 3.5 years now and as everyone told me I should have brought my condo instead of paying rent for last few years. So due to personal circumstances I am now applying for PR and looking to buy a condo on the east coast area within the next 3-4 months. Has anyone been tra...

Service Charges for New Years Eve Restaurants

I was looking for places to take my visiting friends out on New Years Eve in Singapore and found an advert for Sparkle Under the Sea at IndoChine down by Asian Civilization Museum. So I enquire about the dinner and band etc and agree to but 4 tickets priced at 200++ each (free flow of wine and beer ...
