so let's say the kid is 2nd generation PR holding a British passport. He must do Sing National Service, but wouldn't that be treacherous towards Britain? What if a spat broke out between Sing and the UK - what happens then? Just hypothetical, but important.

I am also soon moving over. Although I haven't moved yet, I would say that Singapore is a very expensive place to live without a job, because of the very high rents.
