Hmmm, as mentioned earlier. I requested a call-back, got an e-mail confirmation of that, but they never did call back. That added to my long held belief that if the service you get before becoming a customer is poor, it is not very likely to improve thereafter.
By the way S$4kpa is a lot, but it's only five DDs a month at their quoted £30 a pop!
There's always 'work arounds' but these can be on individual basis or at least, uncommon requests and the web can't cater for those.
I also realise that it is partially down to my circumstances. I am in the process of opening an account remotely, I cannot physically walk into a branch and deal with such matters.
It does, though, and more so here in Singapore, depend on you going in knowing exactly what you want because some guys here are pretty useless. It is a general problem with banks here and not just HSBC.
