Yes, I did feel the sway and saw hanging items swaying too. I’m on the 14th floor in the Holland area.

Saw a news article that tremors were felt in Sengkang, Woodlands and Whampoa. Pretty crazy if you think about it.

My wife and helper were home at the time and didn’t feel it… just me. I was working at my standing desk at the time — that’s probably why I noticed it.

Ah, probably. Chances are the tremors weren’t too strong since you were so far away. If you were napping, or even sitting down chances are you wouldn’t have felt it.

In crisis situations I’m always torn between following protocol with the masses or just hopping on an elevator. During the incident at the World Trade Center (NYC, not the one in SG - which changed its name after), there was one guy who saw everyone jammed into the stairwells and the elevators were free, decided to just take his chances and walked out to the building 2 minutes later... I kinda wanna be that guy! And honestly, the stairwells were not exactly safer in that moment - speed was a factor.

Good God, it must have been hot as hell. I can only imagine how anxious I would have bee, I hate being in tight spaces and the idea of being packed with a bunch of other people in a stairwell terrifies me.

My fear is the lift malfunctioning and getting stuck, and then dying a slow, miserable death.
