Justo got my EP and my daughter's DP on September 9th. Although the sponsor sent all the documents together on June 10th, my spouse's is still "pending" on the website. Sponsor says there's no requests in their mail box.
Any ideas about what's happening? Does it really take that long?
Thank you in advance.

You don't state your country of origin or state but unless your home country/state legally recognizes common law marriage, then Singapore won't recognize it, either. For example, there is no such thing as common law marriage in the Netherlands. If you're not in a legal marriage or registered partnership, then the Netherlands will not issue any kind of document even if you have been living together for years. Without documentation of a relationship, Singapore is unlikely to grant marriage status... and specifically not common law marriage as that is not a valid legal entity in Singapore. You cannot legally be common law married in Singapore.

Have you created and registered a Stable Union Contract? The Singapore gahmen wants evidence that your marriage is legit... like the contract... because, as I mentioned, common law marriage is not a legal status in Singapore.

This is an important point. Singapore does not recognize common law marriage, and any recognition would depend entirely on whether the relationship is legally recognized in the country of origin. Without a legal marriage or registered partnership and official documentation, it’s very unlikely Singapore would grant any marital status. Common law marriage simply isn’t a legal concept under Singapore law.

I really appreciate everyone's insights on the LTVP process – it can be quite daunting! It’s comforting to see so many people sharing experiences and advice. This forum not only highlights personal stories but also emphasizes the importance of support networks for expatriates. Let's keep encouraging each other through these challenges!
