@Wd40 I think we have some similar spending philosophies, but I have to strike a balance with my other half.
My wife had a Lexus RX300 in Singapore (she bought it during 2020 when the COE was $35k), so I bought a 2 year old Lexus RX350 here for US$38k, which was about 25% less than new. Part of the reason for choosing this car is because my wife has back problems and this car has seats that allow her to drive and take extended road trips without too much pain.
I do whatever car maintenance I can by myself, like changing air filters — I just bought a couple extra cabin filters and air intake filters on Amazon because the price was too good (less than $10), and they are easy to change after watching a YouTube tutorial.
