Nah, why would Singapore report levels in Indonesia? They're too busy being inconvenienced at home here :p

IF I recall, beijing was 700+ on the 'up to 500' AQI scale. It measures particles 2.5 microns or smaller. Details here:

I've seen the rating posted for Singapore also. Not sure how it correlates to the PSI we're seeing.

Beijing is usually smog, not dust, except during the sand storms. In Shanghai when it looked worse than this, it smelled nice, almost fresh. Being from SF, I really thought it was just fog.

The situation is bad and today it looks, smells and feels the worst day so far. Singapore prides itself on managing to control everything so this must be hurting. Trying to interfere in other countries affairs (not that I don't think they shouldn't but getting rebuked) and getting a massive dose of their own medicine. I watched the Environment Minister (Balakrisnan ?) on CNA last night. He gets paid $1m !!!! It was embarrassing. No plan, no recommendation, nothing. As for those poor bastards working outside - they have no choice I guess if they want to get paid.

The 3hr average at 11am is already 400 and I knew when I was walking to work at 10am it already wasn't a 'normal' morning so I think we're definitely going to hit some new records later today.

Dont worry, that wont happen. You must remember this is originating from Indonesia and the cities worst affected are in Indonesia. So they will die first before we die.

In villages in 3rd world countries they have wood stoves and the house is full of smoke and the PSI will much more than 1000, yet people live much longer. Dont worry, you will live
