The American Club does screen the Superbowl (either live or delayed telecast) on a huge projector screen when it comes up.

I don't watch, but there's such a hooha surrounding it each year, you can't miss it. Posters all over the Club, and more people than usual in the Union Bar during football season.
And the sultans - yeah the sultans
they play creole...Creole, baby

I signed up for the Ticket. It's modified - only 2 games at 1 am and 2 at 4 pm. looks to be heavily Patriot and New York team dominated

I signed the ticket as well. It is better than nothing.

What about College Football Games? Does anyone have an idea if you can watch the Bowl Games or/and SEC Championship Game in Singapore as well?

Starhub has a 61 game package so long as you have the digital settop box.

Anyone else watch Missouri sports? I'd really like to see a Chiefs game this years.

Sling Box!

Post by beantown_boy » Thu, 01 Feb 2007 6:09 pm

All,
If you don't mind spending an extra few hundred, I recommend checking out slingbox. As long as you have a friend in the US you can hook it up to, you can watch ALL the US channels on your comp so long as it has internet.

On a side note, GO BEARS! Just cause I'm a Pats fan and hate the Colts

Hey, I know it's late notice, but does anyone know of a bar showing the Super Bowl? Dan Ryans is fully booked.

yahoo sports

yahoo broadcasts all nfl games live to international audience. it costs something like US$250 for season and $21/week.
quality is good. and they have full recordings if you want to watch it the next day.
also check out http://www.tvandsportstreams.tv I pay about $10/month for that service and they show good number of nfl/nba/college football/college bball games. Streaming quality is pretty good too.
I am a chicago bears man.
im all for getting together and watching american sports. email at kunalbagga(add and @ instead of the bracket)yahoo.com

pats vs. chargers > Jan. 21, 4am. Any remote chance of a public viewing? Last Sun I tried to watch the Pats Jax at a couple local pubs with no luck. I ended up sitting at the Coffee Bean in a pats t-shirt getting scores on my blackberry.

There are three alternatives you can watch it:
1. Local CNBC shows the replay game in the evening of the same day.
2. Local GOAL TV (StarHub Cable) usually shows SNF and MNF live. (you only need to add the sport package, cheap!)
3. Install SLINGBOX. Go to www.slingmedia.com for more details. I have been using this equipment for quite sometime, and have no problem in enjoying American TV Shows.

Another place to go watch the Superbowl

Post by sweiss » Wed, 30 Jan 2008 8:20 am

If you've called Brewerkz or Dan Ryan's and couldn't get a table and don't have a membership to the American Club - please join us at BLooiE's Roadhouse. I have contacted [email protected] and if we can get enough people interested he'll open up!!! I haven't gotten confirmation yet on which location, but heck this is a SMALL island so any of their locations should be fine. I have 10 people interested from just co-workers and friends. So, please email him and let him know you are interested!!!

Also posted unter SuperBowl topic:
Yes! We are in at BLooiE's. I'm trying to get confirmation on which location but here is the reply I got:

Hi Shelli,

I have also sent out messages to as many as I think would be interested but regardless we'll be open for the game and ready with breakfast and fire up the beer tap.

I'll be there so will look forward to seeing you all there and catching the game.

Cheers
Sarge

I would suggest emailing Sarge and letting him know you are coming.

BLooiE's Roadhouse at 426 Upper Bukit Timah, the Rail Mall. Doors open at 0630.

See you there!
