a review on the movie... DON....
ok... but cannot beat the original... story line is 90 pct original (actually i dont remember the complete original , so
shahrukh cannot compete with the BIG B.... i think Big B will always remain the big B... also sharukhs's wig is ugh ugh....
boman irani as the villian is a new role for him....

I went for the late night show on friday night at 11:30pm. I only loved the stunts done by Priyanka Chopda in this movie and the rest of the movie was a total junk. I had seen the oringinal Don when I was a kiddo, and I didn't recollect anything of the Original....So just could not compare SRK with BigB. SRK has played Don's role with ease compared to his duplicate Vijay's role where she seems to be a bit artificial. Movie was confusing all along, and I was bored to death. By the time the "Mein Hu Don" Song was playing on the screen I slumped in my seat & fell asleep. Woke up after the song and started to hate Bomman Irani's acting. Only John Abraham/ Priyanka have done well overall. The movie was action packed and flashy all along but was full of junk.

The original Don was Amitabh in a kinda double role. One as a mafia don and the other as a taxi driver. The original don dies and the cops (ifthekar) recruits taxi driver to replace don to bring down the mafia. But the copper dies and he is the only dude who knows the truth about the switch. Now, the fake don has to locate the diary of the copper to prove who he is and avoid getting killed by others in the mafia. Pran plays a kind hearted toughie whose kids are being taken care of by Vijay (the taxi driver name). The most famous song here is "Kahike Paan Banaaras waala".
The last scene in cemetry was classic Amitabh.

I hate the guy and yet I admire him.

Would like to see Dhoom 2.
About Don and Umrao Jaan, I would like to say the recreating the past is difficult and filmmakers seldom succeed...
I am told in Umrao Jaan, the chemistry between Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan is pleasant, highlight of the movie is of course Ash- she enthralls with her gorgeousness, elegance.....

Thanks Yasmin for the information on the release of Dhoom 2. I am looking forward to the release. Only glitch is that I will be free only after Dec 03 weekend to see the movie. So,won't be in the first day first show crowd
Can you hold off your passion to see the movie till say Dec 09.

LOL is this for real? And they wonder why we don't take the local art scene seriously.

One of my favorite movies; Offices Space :) This is a 1999 movie about an IT guy who hates his job. It is a an awesome concept, just feels dated now....

I'd like to see a remake of hairspray or singin in the rain, though maybe part of the charm is the fact that they have the 50s/80s looks to them.
