Food: as much local stuff as possible...... can't think of many people that come out from Europe and just want to eat burgers and steaks.

For their transportation (7 of them), I tried the bigger companies they cost a bomb. I also came across a smaller company eBustop. Their charges are much lower, but whats the experience like dealing with such smaller transport companies ? In many places like India/Brazil, I know its must to avoid such services ... not sure whats it like here.. they have a website http://www.ebustop.com/

I know one local company offering 8-seater MPV, with driver for $40 per hour, min 3hrs. They do 13-seat Combi min-buses for $35 per hour.

Charges include the driver, parking, ERP, fuel, unlimited mileage etc. though there is an extra midnight charge similar to the taxis. don't know how this fits into your plans.

For food in the end I convinced them to try local stuff ... I even brought them to a big food centre at Bt Batok East ..Ave 4 I think.. somehow these guys still think eating at open air food centers in Singapore can give them an upset stomach... gosh... but once they looked at the variety available... it was easy pushing Newton food center.. and couple of others too..

You will be surprised there are still many many of these "kind" who can only eat at posh places even when they are travelling they do not want to venture into eating places of what locals are used to... even though Singapore food courts are very hygienic... I had to point to them... like look at the "A" rating this is given by the local Ministry of Health... I had another group last week staying at Four Seasons .. they completely refused to join local eating places... and insisted on eating in hotel only... though they agreed for Equinox once ... so its a "class" issue also
