I totally agree with sundaymorning,

I often feel left out when locals just switch to their own mother tongue and have a conversation by themselves completely forgetting that there are people who do not understand them around.
then when I try to learn like say Chinese to be able to do something about the communication barrier instead of whining,
not a lot of people would really be willing to teach me basic conversational english... or worst case scenarios actually make fun of a learner.

anyways I'm a vietnamese girl, been living in singapore for sometime and grew up with a german father in a more westernised culture so I can pretty much get along with anyone and would love to expand my social circle.

so feel free to drop me an email and we can hang out sometime if you want

I'm up for drinks, shopping, food ( don't talk to me about diets! it never works out! ) etc etc

singaporean who studied in WA and then came back
yeah still miss WA ..

as for local without social graces, yes i do agree - unfortunately.
=\ of course, there are exceptions.
