I'm 30/F single and originally from NYC. Of course, I'm more of a "third culture kid" - having grown up partially in the US and the Philippines (where my folks are from) but being neither here nor there.

Just take it slow, make some pause for every single syllable, you might miss your funny moment, but not theirs hehe

Just try it, its pretty hard and awkward at first but you'l get through it as time goes by. I trying to perfect a chop chop joke and I realized that the single liners works on them hehe

Did a weekly gathering ever get organized?

Thursday after work / happyhour /dinner would be good,
( Don't want to interfere with the FNDC )

Sunday nights are pretty good time to gather at a food court or coffe shop ...?

PS - I can empathize with Americans wanting to spend time with other Americans. (somebody from Texas would be a bonus)
I really enjoy travelling and experiencing other cultures, I have lived in 8 other countries, visited a dozen more.
but sometimes it is nice to 'hang' with people who have a common frame of reference.

I would extend an open invitation to everyone, as long as you dont mind hearing about: baseball, apple pie, and Chevrolet
