Hi All,
We're postponing until Saturday 27 June, 2009. Let's make it at 5pm at:
BREEKS cafe
Marina Square
I think this is a good time because people may have dinner or going out plans later on.
You have TWO WEEKS to confirm! Please get back to me :-)
Thanks,
Kluane

Hi,
For those who do not watch local TV, here is an interesting variety show on Channel 8 every Tuseday 8pm. You can view it on youtube too. It is about foreigners working in Singapore, the funny things they find in Singapore. They also discuss the difference in culture, the society, policies etc compared to their home countries. The program is really funny and interesting. It is amazing how well those foreigners speak such good mandarin.
Here is the link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwqE6eMwQa0 Enjoy.
Hope I can make it for the next Mandarin Corner. Anyone going for it so far?

Ok guys,
It's time to be brave and confirm that you are actually going to come to the Mandarin Corner. You know as soon as one of you makes the first step and says "I'll be there!" everyone else will follow suit! So be strong!
Thanks!
ps. I'll BE THERE!

Hello!
How about an odd inclusion? I've spoken english all my life but am fascinated by the chinese heritage- the language, the calligraphy, the customs, the martial arts etc. It'd be great to delve deeper into these with you mandarin friends, maybe I'll pick up a bit of the language and the script too? In return I'll bring in a few things to the table that you might like to use.
So am I welcome?

The main point of a mandarin corner is to speak Mandarin, Chinese.
I will encourage people attending to communicate with others in only Mandarin, Chinese for the full hour. Therefore I'm not sure how useful it will be for those who don't currently speak at all.
The session will last for 1 hour.
