Hope this thread is still active and need some advice.

I am PR and my wife is a citizen. She is pregnant now and i want to apply the LTVP for my mum to come over and take care of her and also my child is born.

My first application is rejected and i appealled also get rejected.

So what is a solid reason to give to ICA so they will aprrove my application?

I hope you don't mind us asking this, but which country are you and your mother originally from? And what is your salary?

The reason we asked this is because there have been cases of Indian and Chinese applications for LTVP for mothers to come to care of the newborns and wives getting rejected. Although there is success for those who earn higher salary - not sure what is the minimum though.

My hubby is applying LTSVP for his mother as he has lost his father. We both are PRs He earns more than $20k/pm. Our application is still pending at ICA after 4 weeks. Is there any possibility it can be turned down? What should be done in that scenario? She is over 60 and cannot live alone. Thanks.

Of course the LTVP can be rejected, at the discretion of ICA (and without telling reasons).

This makes no difference to ICA.

Find a way for her to live elsewhere. Or move out of Singapore to join her.

Kind of ironic, as an expat you are allowed to freely hire a maid, no questions asked. But to bring your own parent to take their care or take care of your baby, either impossible or very difficult.

In this culture Parents are revered, FDWs reviled. Easier to bounce the unwanted FDWs out of country with no rights or notice than someone's parents.
