Hi All,
It’s very positive to see all of your application is getting approved. Here is my story,
Age : 28
Occupation : IT consultant
Salary: above average
Years in Singapore : 18 years
Education : PSLE, N levels, O levels, Diploma and Honour bachelors degree all in Singapore.
Spouse: local Singaporean
Community service : serving as a volunteer with local peoples association.
I have applied for PR under the spouse route. My wife is my sponsor. We have been married for 3 years. We have a house in Singapore. No kids yet and we are planning. Currently in LTVP+ renewed for the 2nd time last year August.
I do have investment and life plans with local insurance companies for almost 2 years. I do community service , sports with a local football team and all my family members from my side and my wife side is in Singapore.
I did all my national team exams in Singapore and took my degree in Singapore as well.
I have applied for PR on the 14th Nov 2024. Super anxious and stress for the outcome. It will be great to have my PR here as I want to live here with my wife without worrying about looking my resident status and work!
I will be posting here to update my outcome. Please feel free to ask me questions. Hahahah

IT will be tough. None of the assets reallly count. Wha matters is occupation and potential to integrate.

Hi all,
Reaching out here as I have a question regarding my PR application and apparently there are some hints that could indicate that the application is in the process of getting approved.
I applied around 4 months ago and noticated that I’m able to login to CPF through Singpass after which then the following screen is shown.
Is it normal to see that or is it a positive sign indicating a successful application?
To me:
Race: Caucasian
Age: 26 yo
Duration in SG: Close to 4 yrs working, studying at NUS postgrad, interning and now fulltime working in professional advisory services.
Appreciate your input!
Old post but let me explain that in the 'old' days EP holdrers (and maybe SPass) could (had to) contribute to CPF. That's why that is there. Some of them still hold funds in CPF (esp Malaysians as they cannot withdraw until retirement under some sort of EPF/CPF agreement).
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.

So you are telling me that, I will not get PR even though my wife is singaporean, we have house in Singapore, my salary is above average and I have been organising events and volunteering with multiracial groups since young and I’m just gonna be ticked off because I am Indian ?
Wow!! Hahaha nice!

What about the other questions? Not sure why you are being cryptic and then getting upset when you are given an opinion that is contrary to your expectation.

I am not upset but just curious. But based on the chances to get approve, what is the difference between PTS and FTS? Since I fall under the FTS, will I be put in the same “balloting” box as Indians applied under the PTS ? Which are based on many factors like education, finance, integration with society etc. so I have all these factors, plus I fall under FTS and why will it be harder ?
So I will not be competing under the FTS and get a chance to live with my loved ones in SG without worrying about permanent stable place to live ?
Again I’m not upset it’s just some questions running around my mind. Sorry

All PR applications are subjected to racial quota regardless of the scheme.
FTS will also look at the Singaporean sponsor’s ability to support the applicant, along with usual factors for the applicant. FTS just shows you have existing familial ties in SG.
Volunteering has been abused to death by a certain nationality as they stop volunteering once they get the coveted PR. Insurance and investments don’t help Singapore, only yourself. ICA does not care and does not ask for info for these two things anyway.
The positives are you’ve been here since young, educated in SG system, the integration to society is there.

It's important to bear mind that this board is not the entity that accepts or rejects PR or citizenship applications. We simply provide the most accurate answers we can based on (semi) educated guesswork, anecdotal evidence and information and updates provided by applicants here over the last couple of decades.
The most valuable service we can provide is the unvarnished truth (as we understand it) and not false hope. There will always be exceptions but generally speaking, our batting average has been pretty good.
Best of luck with your application.

Integration is a key factor in both cases. So regardless of which category you apply under, you already have a leg up because of marriage and education. Are there separate buckets - probably not, but then like I mentioned above, you already have a leg up.
That said:
1. If you are applying under FTS, your wife's salary comes into the picture. The thinking is that she should be able to support you in case you are retrenched. And if her salary is too low, that may be grounds for rejection. Why I asked and you are avoiding sharing the info.
2. Are any of your immediate family members PRs or citizens? Siblings? Parents? If so, how did that happen and why were you not a part of that application? If for instance you were kept out of a parent's PR application, it will be viewed as an attempt to evade NS and it will be very hard to be approved despite other factors in your favor.

1. I do not want to disclose as many information about me. So yap. But my wife is earning which about average as well. More than 4K. Combine income for the house hold is more than 12k as well. Talking about retrenchment, that’s were I do have some investments which I have also provided to ICA where I can take out the funds on rainy days.
2. Yes my dad was Singaporean. But he was earning very little. Less than 3k. And I did applied for PR till the age of 21 (which is the last cut off age for child below 21 can be sponsored by the parents) but it was rejected around 5 times. Cause of my dad who earning less and my dad was living with my grandma and didn’t have a proper shelter as well. So it’s not I do not want to serve NS, I even emailed and went over to MINDEF to serve NS but they rejected me cause I must be a PR to serve NS.
So yap my story is abit complicated. Hahaha
