What kind of maid

Hi all ..I just wanted to know what nationality maids do our Indians usually keep here ? I have kept a Punjabi maid (my 1st ) for 3 years, then she went back.But after that I got 3 Punjabi maids, both were terrible. The 1st started stealing and telling lies in 6months.Another came for 3 days and found that she cant do a maid job so she left.Then the other came ,and within 1 month,telling me she has a maid job offer in Canada.Went back yesterday.

I have friends telling me to get a Indon , but I dont know if its the right thing to do cos some Indon's do wonders on their off days, and Filipinos are a different breed altogether.Can families out there just share with me ,which maid should I go for ?

i wouldn't think its a race thing.. i suggest go for the person(ality)

i only have experience with a couple of filipinos. damn efficient and very 'auto-pilot'.
one cud cook indian food too.

it doesnt matter which nationality they r , i have tried srilankan , punjabi , manipuri (indian) , all of them were nightmares , i just fired my manipuri maid recently, caught her having a handphone and having a boyfriend , which she use to meet hidingly .
i have given up on having a maid now , or if u really need it , must have hidden camera at home especially if u have kids at home , this manipuri maid use to meet the guy under the block & she use to bring my baby along , when i am sleeping .
she made direct calls to india which cost $ 1000 bill .

i would recommend u to get part time helpers. there are alot of singapore housewives who are doing these part time and they are mostly more reliable than housemaids.

i have had horrific experiences with filipino maids... one sneak in her boyfriend into my house in the middle of the night. and another stole my clothes. and for both, i trusted them with the house keys and all. such disappointment.

i guess at the end of the day, u jus have to be very careful with a housemaid. im sure there are good ones available.

I didnt know it was illegal to have hand phones? and can you fire someone for having a handphone? cant she take you to court for unfair dismissal?

As to the phone bill why not just give her a skype phone in her room so she can stay in touch with her family it will cost you peanuts.

I find it amazing you are willing to leave your kids with someone you cant trust and need to have cameras around the house. What you are saying to that person you have little respect for them, so in turn they will have little or no respect for you.

I think there should be Marriage registration for maids as well.. so they are married to the family... People dump maids like how women were dumped in the past. Wifery rights and Woman's protection act should now be applicable for maids protection of employer woman.

So women bosses are more arrogant and rude than most males.
