I am a good-food follower and got to know from TV variety show Star Choice (Jie Tou Mei Shi Xing) hosted by Micheal chong, Ng Hui, Sharon Ou) the very famous Depot Road laksa is now moved to Bukit Merah. Their laksa is served in claypot! It's hot and simply decilious, you can't help but to finish up all the gravy!!! The portion is also generous, a lot of ingredients. Value for $$. Die die must try!!! You'd better go early to avoid long queue or they run out very fast one.

I missed their laksa so much and have been trying to locate where they moved! thanks for much for your info. Their laksa is just too good. I used to have it more than 3 times a week. yesh!

Won't argue about quality, but for an alternative version, which is best to be described as 'fusion' laksa, try the Spicy Laksa Goreng at Bedok corner hawkercentre, stall 25. It is at the end of Upper East Coast road, at the corner.

This Malay woman makes a chinese laksa into a firy hot one, with all the original ingredients, awsome...

She also has a Spicy Fried Lotong... wickedly good, but incredibly spicy.

Wow all talks about laksa I thought the best was Katong laksa...now I am hearing a fried laksa goreng... coming from you Eric?

Something different right but I will give it a try if I go there... why did I moved to the west when all the good food seems to be in the east???

I love Laksa (Tong Ji Mian at Golden Mile ), but only because it reminds me so much of Kaow Soi Gai (Chiang Mai curry noodle soup). This is basically the Thai equivalent. Do you know it? Nooch at Wheelock made a pretty good version, but the best by far was is the Regent in Chiang Mai. Worth the trip, I swear.

Do they have Chicken Laksa here? All the laksas I've had have been the seafood type. Funnily enough, the best laksa I've had has been in a little chinese takeaway shop in city of Sydney.

The creaminess of the coconut milk, the different spices, the fresh coriander leaves, the fresh choppes shallots and the fried onions...uhhmmm..

Khao Soi Gai, now we're talking!

Chicken egg noodle (dry version or soup, both possible) from Chiang Mai. I had it several times while I was there, but more of a snack or lunch, right? Also available with prawns (Khao Soi Kung) or beef (Khao Soi Nuea).

ah.... Thailand...

When I went to the Nooch at the Paragon, the menu was very different and they didn't have it -- have you had it there recently?

Also, do ou know of the amazing place in the basement of the paragon? The dumpling place?

hmm... different menu? That I don't know. Must be then they have skipped dishes from it, as the 'menu' itself, the little booklet with all dishes offered inside, is the same, right? That funny little booklet with hugging and semi-erotic posing people pics all over.

I think it's called Din Tai Fung. I can't believe you don't know it. It has the most amazing steamed taiwanese dumplings. Don't try to go on the weekends, the queue is prohibitive.

As far as the semi-erotic Nooch menus, I think this may be more of a 'men are from mars thing'. My impression was that the pictures were of cute kids and impossibly thin women who never ate a carb in their lives.

I am intrigued by your tagline: I vaguely remember you have (a) dog(s) at home? Does it happen to be a Chihuahua by any chance?

A few weeks back there was an ad posted here, someone selling a 10 months old chihuahua. I really really wanted to buy that dog, but could not in any way convince the missus on getting that lovely little doggie.
