from that list I hope these get there:
- Australia: that will be the country of my second passport

- Norway: My best friends in Singapore are from there, and other 15 who play in our soccer team
- Trinidad&Tobago: I saw them beat Mexico last week. I just loved their determination

BTW, right now it is 6 AM, I just watched Chelsea game (5x1) and after I saw Real Madrid (3x0). I wonder when they are going to play each other. Chelsea x Real Madrid...that would be a GREAT match!!!

I'd agree with the Trinidad and Tobago sentiments - what a tiny country to get into the World Cup, with no major money - good for them
Australia because it IS the country of my second passport

Spain becaise I have lost too many bets on their winning anything
Czechia because a major tournament without Nedved would be a shame.
Switzerland simply because they play well.

We'll see next month.

I suggest setting up a little 'wager' for the WC next year . . . (Go Spain, GO!!!

Bahrain - Trinidad and Tobago .........Either team is fine

Australia - Uruguay .................... i d like Uruguay to go ... i think reccoba is esp talented with his left foot !

Slovakia - Spain ................... Spain would be good

Czechia - Norway ....................... Czech

Switzerland - Turkey ........................ Turkey , I m impressed by quite a few players in the turkish team. Last world cup they had a decent performance.

I think your comments about England being arrogant are only partly right. I think there was some over confidence going into the Northern Ireland game, but I do not believe that after almost 40 years of winning precisely nothing, English players have the level of self belief that you attribute to them. Any English swagger is quickly dashed by reality; Denmark beating you 4-1 does that quite nicely.

I find it ironic as well that a Dutch fan writes about other teams being arrogant. The Dutch team have been the biggest cast of primadonnas in the history of football. How many times have egos prevented a talented Dutch team from fulfilling its promise? Dressing room bust ups are as commmon as chocolate sprinkles in a Dutch kitchen.

I don't think it will come down to Holland or England anyway, although the Dutch look good. Brazil just seem to have too much talent; Ronadinho is such a great player. I'd travel from here to Germany just to watch him tie his laces. He is in a different class from Beckham, or in fact anyone that currently wears an orange shirt.

It should be a great world cup and as an Englishman I hope that we can get it together. Experience teaches me not to expect too much; supporting the Hammers does that too.

Thankfully Germany and Brazil wouldn't meet until the finals, according to seeding, but Germany will be out of it by then anyway.

I feel Argentina, if they can make it through, will beat Argentina - as will - wait for it - - -

Who can stop Brazil or Argentina this time, Gareth? It certainly won't be England, Germany or even Holland.

I really can't see anyone doing it, short of Italy, and they would produce a typically awful Italian style.

I think we will be surprised how well the European nations will play... I’m not saying the standard of the football we play will meet and exceed that of what we are use to with the South Americans but the fact they are playing in our neck of the woods will in no doubt effect there game. Like any great team if you get under there skin and frustrate them they will falter and I see that happening with the SA's.

I still can't believe after 5 pages of posts there is no one else backing England. Although that doesn't surprise me really... most people dislike them! I'm sticking by my guns and England for me are the favorites to win!

Take aside the whole "team" thing which before I get trounced with reply's I believe this is the heart of any team, hence Greece. However, England has the best squad of players on this planet! Period! A Squad of players is what it will take to win this World Cup and England has that! When that tournament starts next year they will be ready!

England is on the right side of the curve... unlike other potential favorites.
