You had best write to them, that way you will get accurate answers, something you will not get on this board.
Plavt.
This piece of excellent advice goes for other airlines and occupation as well. If you write to them though unsolicited, at least your genuine interest can be seen.
Excellent as always Plavt.
Hmmm.. Yap. I've wrote to them, the auto reply said that they will get back to me within 10 days. Hope they'll reply cos there are some which won't entertain your emails at all. I was afraid that would happen, that's why i made a query in this forum.

Hi VT,
I emailed CX 2 months ago asking about cabin crew recruitment in Singapore. I got my reply back and was told that they don’t have plans to conduct recruitment in Singapore yet.

Dear All,
I had emailed CX 2 months ago too.. I asked them whether do they still recruit Singaporeans and they mentioned that as long as the applicant has the Right of Abode in Hong Kong.
Cheers!
Vinny

Hmm.. Matt.. You never read thru the SIA post ah... i mentioned over there

They replied me.. Hmmm.. they are quite conservative about their pay. Never disclose.. they just put competitive remuneration. And its a three year contract, without bond. Currently no intentions of having recruitment in SIngapore. Hmmm... they only put must have right of abode in hong kong. Doesn't that mean we must be permitted to work and leave there? All we need is a permit right? Sharkie? I'm not sure about that but my sis worked in hongkong before, she just need to apply for permit. DUnno whether does it apply the same to airline.

ya... but what i mean is when you have a job offered there, then you apply for permit lo. I don't see why singaporeans can't work and stay in hongkong unless that individual got some special cases. If not, as long, you show that you are being offered a job there, you should be able to apply for permit.
