Hi there, great to hear from someone else from my neck of the woods. What do you do here in Singapore and how long have you been here. I am still finding my feet.

Hi I'm not a Scot but sometimes frequent a "scottish pub" - the real thing, run by a Scot, not some nasty theme pub!

Is it ok to publish details here, mods? If not I can PM details to anybody that's missing a familiar accent or even Irn Bru. :)

Thanks, sms. The pub is called The Sportsman, it's in Far East Shopping Centre on Orchard Road - that's the one between Wheelock and the Hilton, opposite the Thai embassy, not the one on Scotts Road. It's essentially a no-frills Scottish & Sports bar run by Harry and his lovely wife Sharon - huge TV and sports memorabilia all over the place. Frequented by lots of Scots but other nationalities too, cheap booze, and they currently have a charity quiz on a Wednesday night.

Fun? Maybe I should read more threads. :D

The Sportsmans......... My second Home.

I am also from the Aberdeen area, Kemnay Boy through and through.

I believe there is a little something happening there on Friday night, I heard a rumour that Harry was planning something. To be fair its a good old place to go for giggles and conversation any night of the week, the most friendly bar staff etc etc.

I have been here two years now and loving it, The weather is much better than back hame!!!!!!!!

See you all in the Bar.

p.s mines a pint

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? You're new to Singapore and you want to meet someone from Aberdeen?

Handy Hint #1 - If you want to meet someone from Aberdeen. Try going to Aberdeen. There's plenty there

Handy Hint #2 - If you feel homesick - Go home! (try Christmas time it's lovely up North at that time of year)
