I'm doing a comparison between budget airlines and Silkair regardin e places which dey will be travellin to if we were to b part of either 1 of them..I've notice tt if dey're both travellin to regional places, i might wan 2 try out budget airlines coz for silkair,e chances of gettin into SIA wil b pretty hard..

hmm, i've done research regardin tis frm other forums and tis is wat dey mention tt is pretty hard for Silkair staffs to get into SIA if dey request to go for internal transfer..i stil not 100% cfm if dey'll recruit ex Silkair staffs..

During my time, it was pretty easy.
When you have reached 3-4 years of service, you can apply for SQ.
You will go thriugh the same interview process but it's indicated that you are from MI.

I heard that after abt 2 years in Silk air, you can ask for transfer to SIA.

hmm, i've done research regardin tis frm other forums and tis is wat dey mention tt is pretty hard for Silkair staffs to get into SIA if dey request to go for internal transfer..i stil not 100% cfm if dey'll recruit ex Silkair staffs..

Not surprising since the standards are lower for SilkAir, evident by the educational qualifications required. However, educational qualifications aside if you work for SilkAir then want to transfer it means employing and training somebody to fill vacant position(s) within SilkAir. This is expensive and companies these days are keen to reduce costs, especially in the aviation industry on account of 'cut throat' competition from budget carriers.
