Since there have been a lot of posts on the khazana thing and I have been to these places a few times, for the uninitiated, I can add a 2 pence value.

Khazana has 2 variants - live music (quite sad, honestly as the singers are not so good) and DJ music. Both options have dancers from India (thereby ruling these places out for children). There's another place called Bollywood Dhoom on Circular road near the North Bridge Road side entrance to Boat Quay, where again there's DJ music and dancers and the music is pretty good, coz its all the current hindi hits (Esp Himesh, who is all over the place !!!)

We can do an outing at one of these places some time as its quite good to hear "Jhalak Dikhla Ja" on full blast at a dance floor in Singapore !!! Also while there are dancers on the floor, once is free to shake a leg !

Yeah ! I know what you mean....all Himesh's songs are awful...Jhalak Dikhlaja followed by his album..Aap Ka Suroor....can't decide which one is worse !!!!!

Guess he's just a change from the usual voices. I don't like him that much too. Kinda annoying...

Yeah, I agree his voice is quite nasal and annoying and while Im not one of his biggest fans, his music definitely provides a change from the endless remixes floating around. And also its all over the place on dance floors in India now. You can never miss it anywhere !!

Im on for the movie on Sunday afternoon, will have to pushoff after the movie as have some guests coming over to our place in the evening, but it would be great to meetup whoever is landing up for the movie !

guys, though I had decided to push off early after the movie gets over but if the evening becomes as exciting as going to bollywood dhoom then i may get tempted and join you ... but still cant commit ... let see how it goes ..

maybe we can decide where to carry on after the movie ends. .... sounds like a plan huh !!....

So plan kya hai.. for sunday... going to sentosa after movie.... will that not be after 5 pm. I would suggest we go to east coast parkway.

Who would like to go to sentosa tommorrow. there is some "jazz by the beach" every sat this month. anybody interested. starts at 6.

Since most folks seem not to be able to make it on Sunday for movie,
how about meeting tomorrow evening somewhere (sentosa) or maybe hitting a disco.....

Hey Everyone....

As far as I am concerned...need to say two things...

1. From the feedback about Khazana...I will have more fun dancing than sitting down and watching others dance....so khazana is out for me. A definite no to Khazana outing. BUT am total game to go dancing to the other places recommended above this particular post. I am leaning more towards dancing NEXT saturday rather than tomorrow night....would rather take this slow and meet people during activities like that which are happening on Sunday to break the ice and bond rather than in a club....tried it in Hong Kong, I know this is better for me, to begin with.

In my mind....Sunday is my day.....and am looking forward to spending it meeting all my new buddies. Saturday, most probably will stay in touch and play it by ear, but am not planning to go anywhere in particular.

2. AFTER the movie on Sunday, I am DEFINITELY in for the SENTOSA WALK(OR ANYTHING ELSE TOO;)) and agreed with Sapphire that we all get together at The Pernakan Place, Emerald Hill on Orchard Road. I presume that the movie will be over by 5 pm. So how does between 5.30 and 5.40 sound? Then we take off from there for the walk around Sentosa. (I am wondering how? which route? do we need to go towards the Sentosa Island? Will the suggestion giver please also make a tentative itenary that can be followed? Thanks )

And Khozem, you will not want to leave the group and run.....want to take a bet

I am cool with meeting all of you after the movie. How about we all meet at The Pernakan Place, Emerald Hill on Orchard Road? It is bang opposite Specialists Shopping Centre. Around, 5.30 pm or so. Can sit there, have a drink and decide where to go. Personally, I would prefer going dancing somewhere.

Not sure if Bollywood Dhoom would be open at 5.30 pm. Maybe rb74 can shed some light on that.

Count me out if the plan is to go to Sentosa later.

Ooops Bunty!!!

Sentosa I thought was in on SUNDAY!!! AFTER the movie....disco tomorrow I am out....once I start dancing, I need to be tied to stop!!!:D

I will be dancing through the movie on Sunday too....

saphire, you are correct. dhoom does not get cracking till 10pm in the night and sunday night will be quite dull. a good day is friday/saturday. i wont be able to make it this fri/sat, so can only do it next week. so this week, its only the sunday movie for me

Sundays - dancing? WOW!!! I thought that that happened mostly on Saturday evenings/night - I guess one lives and learns....interesting proposition....hmmmmm. I am thinking......well i am game to whatever the majority decides about.
