Being from Oz, Pumpkin soup is one of my favourite things! Are you after a recipe? I have quite a few.. but the best ones really roast the pumpkin first and then cook the soup... I f you boil the pumpkin it tends to lose a bit of flavour.
My favourite is to chop the pumpkin with skin on and then when soft pull the skin off and put the pumpkin in a saucepan with some ground cumin, some ground coriander and garam masal is you like and lots of ginger. Gradually stir in some stock (vegetable or chicken depending on your meat eating preferences, and bring to the boil. When boiled puree it all together. Its gingery and yummy. If pumpkins are real expensive then you can add a bit of potato or carrot to fill it out some.
Hope you like.. if you don't like the spicey one let me know and i'll give you the standard mums making soup recipe!
