Help needed on living with your dog

Are there any people on the forum that own a dog and live in singapore?
I would like to bring my Bull Terrier with me. I have checked that the breed is not banned in SG and is indeed allowed there.
The problem is that my bull terrier isn't on the list of dogs allowed in an appartment and as appartments/rooms are already seemingly very expensive to rent, then am I looking at being forced to take something even more expensive than an appartment, just so i can live with my dog?
Any advice on what my options are? How can I live there with my bull terrier?

The list you're referring to is for the HDB flats, not the condominiums, where dogs of all sizes are normally allowed. Might have a problem with the landlords, but it worked out fine with us.

Also, houses are quite cheap compared to the condominum apartments, so you might like to look into that (can get a large house with garden (but no pool) from 2000 upwards)...

Aah, OK, got it then. no HDB's for me then.
Don't really need a large house - are there smaller ones for rent also?
Just a one or two bedroom house or appartment would be fine, would that bring the monthly rent under 2000 somewhere? Do you see anything like that available much in SG?
Is there real competition for all the places that come up for rent? I've heard that it's quite difficult to find accomodation there sometimes.
Forgive me for all the questions, but i only have a short timespan to gather as much info as i can before I must make decision to go or not....

If you're not too picky and/or don't mind living a bit outside the city centre, you'll find someting around 2000, I'm sure. It's renters market here, so remember to bargian (you can have a look at houses/flats advertised at about 2500 - and then negotiate). Have a look at the search on this site (front page).
