EP/S pass rejected

Hello Friends!!

I got a 1st class Bachelor's degree from India. My EP/S pass application was rejected stating that the company had insufficient quota. It's an IT company. The company employed 5th Singaporean only in the month of october and the CPF statement for the current month will reflect that 5th persons name. What is the probabability of my S pass getting approved? Any body facing the same problem?

Hi Tiger143...I have a friend who's S Pass application also got rejected for the same reason, that the sponsoring company doesn't have enough qouta to employ foriegn workers. Sad to say, he was not able to work in Singapore.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this quota thing is a way for the Singapore government to make sure that companies here get to employ the required number of local workers/citizens before employers can hire foriegn ones.

Try to communicate with your employer here on what are the possible solution they can take regarding your EP/S Pass application. Good Luck!

Hi, hope this can help...
I think as your company already has 5 locals, your application is most likely to be accepted. I had similar experience which was worse because my company had only 3 singaporean and PRs. Later on,my company submitted an appeal stating that it was still expanding and looking to employ more locals. That worked. I got my In-principal approval 3 weeks later, but they required my company to fulfil the quota before my SPass expires. If my company fails, it will affect the renewal of my SPass as well as future application.
