the whole point of this thread is only to ask if SIA accepts dips from nafa, that`s all..

anyways i`ve decided to go to nafa to take visual comm, so it doesn`t matter anymore. thanks anyways!

Polytechnics Diplomas. It was stated on the board before the queue if I did not remember wrongly.

with the exception of nafa and lasalle dips, they may have to be reviewed.

my friend has a fashion design dip from nafa and she went for interview about 4 months before she graduated. they reviewed her dip and approved, and she commenced training after she officially graduated.

but then again, it doesn`t matter since i`ve decided to take visual comm in nafa.

OOPPPSsss Mischax - i think you better study a dip in what u are interested in cos your interest your vision your dream willl bring you far.

The fact that you posted up your photo here already and that you mentioned to us all that you are in SIA just to pass time, well it is giving me that impression. SIA interviewers might be reading up this forum like now and taking note of you and when they see you in the next recruitment, They will take note of what you just said above. Hence Be Tactful dear.

Frankly speaking, I think they have more better stuffs to handle than to blacklist anyone from here?

The HR is extremely busy with all the recruiting and really, this is childplay to them.

You are both right in what you say; the only way somebody would scupper their chances is if they were dumb enough to post their picture and then create some adverse publicity in regard to the airline. I remember a bus driver in the town of Darlington in the north of England who resentul of being put on one person operation told the passengers they would have to get off because he did not know the way. As a result a woman went to a local newspaper and needless to say our erring driver recieved his marching orders. That is just one example; frequent derogatory comments, naming people, raicism, sexism, stealing and giving false information are amongs other more common examples.

but why ruin your chances and create such an impression. i mean you really want the job dont you? and yet to have voiced out such pessimism here, the SIA interviewers will surely challenge you when they have a 1 to 1 with you. actually maybe sometimes ppl get kicked out without realising what they said before like here in a forum????

its just better to be safe than sorry

M - yes their HR is really busy recruiting ppl BUT i believe they have their non-peak seasons as well. You wont know what SIA HR does for real anyway. The interviewers lead normal lives as well and they will come in here on any normal day to just read for leisure but they will use this info their read for their work later on at the interviews and if theres a photo of you for them to recognise and take note of. why not?

For your information I do know of someone who is an interviewer at SIA and who also went thru these threads here...

i don`t think i`ve displayed perssimism! they don`t have a hotline which we can call and voice our enquiries regarding the position, and they did not state if they will consider to accept semi-govt tertiary institution diplomas which the ministry of education deems equivalent to polytechnic diplomas. all i wanted to know is if they do accept nafa. cos i don`t want to ruin my chances or waste my time going for interviews when in the end, they don`t accept what i have, you know. i just wanted clarification.

but, if they take this attempt for clarification as being pessimistic or anything negative, then so be it. i mean, if that`s what they feel and they happen to actually remember my face then i should just resign to fate if they want to eliminate me just by seeing what i wrote on the internet. i mean, who can be sure that the photo is even me, right? not saying that the photo isn`t me but nobody can be sure of that, it`s a cyberworld and everything can be fake. if that`s how they are going to judge applicants, i have nothing to say then! if they challenge me, i`m sure i`ll have every good reason to back up what i said here, cos i speak from my heart genuinely.

You believe that they have their non-peak season? I presume that's your own presumptions isnt it? They have recruitments around the globe but of course, whether are they occupied daily, we wouldn't know. But at least, the HR staff whom I know and met told me that they are pretty preoccupied with all the recruitments.

This is an open forum and definitely someone from SIA might drop by. But what are the chances someone will take note of your nick and probably try to remember how you look like with the avatar you have put up? Basicaly, quite remote isn't it? Probably to save your own skin, why not put up Pamela Anderson photo then?

There are thousands of applicants each year, not to mention hundreds for each walk in. Unless you are of high importance, I don't think they would pay much attention to YOU.

I was also told that after each panel management interview, those whom have failed previously will be blacklisted and not to be called up for the panel management interview again. This was revealed to me by a cabin crew executive whom was my campmate. But this isn't true because that what's not happening. They might have the resources and manpower to do that but I'm sure because of the number of applicants each year, that wouldn't be feasible though not impossible.

I'm sure everyone has their own say and BELIEFS, not to mention a mind of their own. Do what's right, ethical and work towards the "A Great Way To Fly" motto.

Hmmm...I don't think they will blacklist you, but I guess just to give others a chance, they would prefer you to wait six months before trying again. I know of friends who have been selected after the six months and they are happily flying now. Actually six months is a good waiting period for you to rectify and perhaps find out more about the airline so that you will be better prepared when you attend the next interview.
