Free concerts at the Botanic gardens

For those of you who like classical music there are some free concerts coming up (one of them is on Sunday). The following information is from the websites of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (www.sco.com.sg) and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (www.sso.org.sg):

Synopsis:
Expect an evening of the best outdoor music in Singapore as the SSO, together with Music Director Lan Shui take centrestage at the Palm Valley of the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

We invite you to dance, clap or even sing along to well-loved tunes and melodies, or just chill out with a glass of wine.

As they are outdoor concerts they might get cancelled if it rains heavily, which unfortunately has been the norm lately, so fingers crossed.

I can recommend the Botanical gardens as a great venue for outdoor concerts. I went to the last one that the Singapore chinese orchestra did- the music was great and so is the location. Even better if you bring food and wine etc...
I'm definitely intending to go to the SSO concert on 13th May, just hoping it doesn't rain!

The SSO concert at the Botanic gardens is next Sunday evening (May 13th). Is there anyone who would like to join us for a picnic then? So far it seems that only 3 of us are going and that's a shame, because the programme is very good and entrance is free.

We're definitely going as a group. We're currently trying to agree on what each person will bring to the picnic. Take a look at the last few posts in the 'Are you in your 30's...join our club' thread.

There's definitely room for a few more. We're going to meet at the Botanic gardens but we haven't discussed exactly when yet. Keep an eye on the 30s club thread because the details will be posted there before I post them here.

The concert starts at 6pm, so some of us will be there by 5:30pm to find a spot big enough for everyone. The rest of you should come into the Botanic gardens and find us, preferably before the concert starts. Please make sure that you have either my number or Ceh's in case you have trouble finding us.
