What's the best thing to do on National Day?

We've just moved here and wondering what is a good plan for Thursday as we're not going to Marina Bay. Can anyone recommend something to do or does anyone want to meet up somewhere that you can see some celebrations? Or is it all hype and best avoided?

Maybe it will be best to chill out at some place for dinner.
It will be double combo if you can get a place that you watch the fireworks as well
I didn't see you and your partner on saturday for the volleyball anyway.
Do head down this sat at ONE pm. hahaha!

we are following the advise of all my local collegues ... and finding something to do away from Singapore!

TBH they have done so many rehersals that I think i have seen the whole show already anyway!!
