You know what, if you feel out of place and want to fit in again, all you have to do is to change your accent back to a local one. Unless you have lived in Australia since you were born, I don't see why you can't get back your original accent.
To show you that this actually works ............
My friend, who has lived in the UK for 20 years, still retains her local accent whenever she comes back to visit (she is still residing in the UK) and we never ever call her an "ang mo". We still accept her as one of us.
