Medical/dental insurance for the self employed

I'm hoping for a little assistance...After working for a corporation in Singapore from 2000-2005, I returned to Singapore last month and have started my own business. My USA medical/dental insurance runs out in December (through my previous employer) and, as such, I need to find my own insurance (self, young daughter - both in Singapore). Any advice? Roughly, how much should I budget? THANKS!

im looking for exactly the same, as my current insurance is very pricey, though I am not self employed.
As far as I have seen it, locally they only offer you some kind of additional services/money in case you need hospitalization, meaning to say, whatever your CPF/medisave is not covering, they will pay the rest. I haven't found any "medical" insurance though, which covers general practitioners, medication etc.
Therefore I have checked on international health insurances, which cover worldwide excl. USA/Canada (40% off the premium). You may want to try that. In case youi find a local insurer, I would be pleased, if you post it here...

We'll be in similar situation soon that is need to find our own medical insurance.

Husband and I meeting with Great Eastern this week. In ringing around they seem to have the closest thing to full coverage medical insurance. We haven't found any company that covers medications.

Otherwise, you can consider the platinium health plan from AIA. It's quite comprehensive and covers private hospital stay. THe limit is as charged for the many benefits it offers

Plenty of international insurers are out there however the price tends to go up sharply. Especially if your from the US (coverage which can follow you back home makes the price go up sharply! US prices are crazy). Some of the big insurers are Allianz as listed above, IHI Danmark (good coverage in the states), Interglobal, Bupa, and William Russell.
