Indian maid

Post by scotslass » Sat, 20 Sep 2008 8:36 pm

Hi

I am looking to hire an indian maid. Can anyone recommend some maid agents? Ideally I would like one who is coming to the end of her contract in Singapore but I know that may be difficult so am willing to consider a fresh one from India. What are the risks involved in getting a fresh one?

Thanks

Hi there,, I feel that getting Fresh and experienced both have their own risks.

I usually prefer Fresh ones since I have time to train them. Well,, I dont know where exactly from India you need maids from. However, I always get mine from Punjab. Let me tell you getting a good maid is like striking lottery.

My very first maid was a blessing.Freshie.When she was new,,i had to teach her. You have to give at least 3-6 months for the maid to be perfect.Mine was good in 3 mths.. hardworking, took excellant care of my kids, left after 3 years.

The current one I have for 3 months now, is lazy ,feel like giving her a smack at times... oh yeah she has worked here 1.5 years for 2 families. Very funny.. i was told by agent she is good ..no complaints from ex employers.... she can cook.. now that she came to my place..she cant cook our Indian food well.. not even chapatis!!! :x

I have taught her..i am also not good either...her food has no taste,, or sumtimes,, lot of salt.. chilli. I cant do anything about it cos we have to pay agent fees so high .The best thing she mentioned was that...she has a maid at home in Punjab ..her family is rich .. thats y she dunno how to cook,..hahahahhaa

Its becos of her future mum in law that she is working abroad...her MIL wants her to get used to a non-indian country as her fiance will relocate to canada after shadhi. :(

Experienced ones will ask for off days ..they will know more about Singapore and other things..its best to take a fresh one who doesnt have a off day .. but just let your maid know tht anytime she needs a break ..you should give her. I have scared my maid telling her that I have installed hidden cameras at home. :)

anyways.. I will be dealing in Indian maids from January 09 onwards..
Always have a smile on that face!
