It is almost certainly the age thing. Last i heard cutoff is 31, and with the current climate, i doubt they would have raised the age limit. Another thing working against you would be u not possessing a degree. Although u meet the minimum standards, I'm sure you've noticed that most of the cadets they take are graduates.

im also just being rejected by SIA. My interview was quite short only about 10 minutes duration i guessed, not more than 10 questions asked by the interviewers.

Im not sure how they pick and choose the suitable cadet. Maybe I did not express my interests in becoming a pilot that much or that I answered the questions in the wrong ways.

Im 26 this year. My O level and diploma results are average. Im still awaiting for my degree graduation in september.

Well, I guess I try tp pick up on more information before I make my 2nd attempt next year. BTW, I heard from those pilot that SIA normally will give 2nd chance for the interview but no more after that.

I forgot to mention that my eye degree is 400/400 with asti 100/100. This may be one of the reasons they rejected me. I will go for lasik this year I think.

In general, 2 chances 1st interview, only 1 chance after that, unless you've improved yourself in some way. But things might be much more strict now, in this economic climate.

After lasik, you'd have to wait 1 year before SIA will consider you.

Well if its any help, my bro is a captain in Hong Kong, and he has no qualification. He saved and paid for his own flight training in the UK, after which he joined a small UK based airline and I believe became the youngest captain there, he eventually landing himself an expat packaged job flying in HK.

There were a number of self funded pilots and a few ex military Singapore pilots on the training course in the UK.

During training, you only get your basic salary.. amt depends on your quals.

roughly when will SIA be recruiting cadet pilot again, currently there is an ongoing recruiting of cabin crews only.

Hi everyone,

I am 23 years old this year and a diploma graduate in aerospace electronics.
What must I do now to better my chances of being selected for the cadet pilot program?
Should i get a private license in flying? If i have a degree will it increase my chances of being selected?

There are no female pilots in Singapore Airlines main fleet and cargo at the moment but I heard that there are two females in Silkair. I heard that they used to work in the Airforce.

Hi guys,

I've read up on this thread and I noticed this from the recruitment:

GCE "A" level, Polytechnic Diploma or Degree. In addition, you must have obtained a minimum of 5 Credits in the GCE "O" level or its equivalent. These must include English, Mathematics and a Science subject, preferably Physics, taken at one sitting

I've a degree in business management and a diploma in management, but I have only 4 GCE O level credits on 2 sittings..

Does that mean I do not qualify to even have a chance to get into the first interview?
