Orchard Road for shopping and Orchard Towers for shopping!

Yeah, there's tons if you like to drink and walk. It all depends on what you're after. Do you want to just go somewhere and chill? Or do you prefer to go places where tourists rarely venture and have a beer local-style with the residents?

For one day only I would just start on the corner or Orchard and Scott's and then walk eastbound on Orchard road, split off left after The Cathay, walk through Little India, into the Arab area, Esplanade, check out the Merlion, over to Boat Quay and then into Chinatown.

Board one those coast-to-coast buses, e.g. 32. That'll be a long, picturesque and interesting ride.
