Looking for Mandarin Tutition or Group Study

Looking for learn mandarin in conversation for daily life and business, I have basic knowledge, wish to build up correct tone in Mandarin

Any recommendation.

I take tuition from Poonam at this website and am very happy with content etc. I'm not connected in any way with the school other than being a student and pleased to give her some word of mouth advertising.

This Tuesday I'll be finishing an 8 wk beginner course and will move into a medium level course.

Let me know if you have any questions. A good thing is that she invites you to come and sit in on classes in session to get a feel for how it works. That was quite an eye-opener for me when I went in and saw a class that was at about the same level as where we are now.

I'm nowhere close to being fluent but am starting to 'hear' words and get an idea of what is being said. I figure that isn't bad after 7 classes - however my wife and daughter still laugh at my butchering of the tones...

It'll take quite a while longer for me to figure them out

Thanks for yr information, actually, I have basic knowledge and need take more time and correct my tone and voice, besides basic classes, any intermediate or special for business converation.

I recommend you register for a Chinese class at CC (Community Centre). The price is cheaper compare with language school.

Last time there is a cheap Chinese class from WDA for Singaporean / Singapore PR. Only need to pay $ 150 for 5 months' course !
Unfortunately the subsidize is stopped already since July 2010. Now new class costs $ 560 per package

I am new to Singapore and will be here for a few years. I am looking to take Mandarin classes during my stay and am looking for a decent school to start at the beginner level....any suggestions?

I've only done one class so far, but the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce seem to do a decent set of classes,

Thank guys, checked out CC and Chamber of Commerce, seems that there are a lot more to offer for those without Chinese knowledge at all rather than the ones like us with imperfect Chinese so-to-speak. Interesting!

Fattyivy, not sure if you found a solution, if you already do, would love to hear how it worked so far. Otherwise, would you be open to idea of hiring part time teacher for a private class, perhaps we can share the class?
