My English, Your Mandarin

Post by darrenchu » Tue, 14 Dec 2010 11:19 am

Hi All,
Who's up for improving on their conversational English in exchange for helping me out w/ my spoken Mandarin?

I just moved from Canada (where I was born and raised) 6 months ago, and am hoping to meet w/ somebody once/wk for 2hrs at a time. We can keep it light and go for coffee or anywhere w/ air con. I can read a fair bit of Chinese characters (given my Cantonese-speaking background), but can barely get by in Mandarin. For career reasons, I'm hoping to take my Mandarin to the next level, as I'll probably need to begin giving business presentations in Mandarin at some point.

Looking forward to meeting anyone who's interested,
Darren

Hello Darren,
I can help you with your mandarin. I had spoken it since I was young & I would love to improve my English conversation. Let me know if you are interested. I'm new here so I can't send a PM message.

Hi
Wonder if you are still around in Singapore.
My mother tongue is Mandarin and I speak excellent Japanese, am looking for language exchange to strengthen my English presentation skills.
Hope to hear from you soon. :)
Cheers!

Mandarin-English Exchange

Post by darrenchu » Mon, 06 Jun 2011 3:47 pm

To everybody who's responded to my initial msg and who haven't yet heard back from me, my apologies for the delayed response as I've been pretty tied up these last few months. My schedule's freed up somewhat recently, so those who are still interested in meeting for language exchange, feel free to contact me directly at [email protected], as this site seems to limit how many private messages/responses one can make (in relation to the number of forum posts I make).

Cheers,
Darren
