Not likely that you will get many replies. Dr Lisa Wong is perhaps the only female obgyn who does not deliver babies, but will refer you to another doctor to manage your pregnancy. She herself is a Gynecological Oncologist, seeing mostly gynecological cancer patients.

Gynecologist - female reproductive help

Obstetrician - pregnancy, delivery, postnatal.

While using going hand in hand, doctors often specialize in one or the other and prefer that. Not always, but occasionally.

Obviously she does!

they did/do not always go "hand in hand" -

if you're a gynecologist, you're also a trained in obstetrics.

but not all obstetricians are trained in gynecology.

Hi taxico, is that how it is in your home country? Where are you from?

I believe the system here is inherited from the British where specialists are trained in both Obstetrics and Gynecology. And most of the local specialists offer services in both fields.

I think you will find that taxico is an MD in his own right.

it is probably true that most british/singapore obstetricians are also gynecologists, but all i'm saying is that there are exceptions, especially in cases of old obstetricians...
