A lot of Chinese men already import their brides from Vietnam... which is poorer, so the girls try to get themselves a richer Chinese guy instead.
That's the key of the topic: The movie does not say a lot about interracial marriages, but one stereotypical type of them: An old guy projecting something into younger girls from another part of the world (You can easily exchange "Asian" with "Eastern European" and similar stuff is going on all over the world...). This is then combined with a girl who is willing to go very far for some equally projected better life in another country.
A marriage where people come from totally different generations, educational backgrounds, cultures and so on will obviously be a difficult one. One where both have some unrealistic expectations will become terribly difficult once they find out that a) Chinese girls are not different from other girls and there was probably a reason his other two marriages did not work out or b) the US is maybe not the promised land where milk and honey flows...
But blaming it all on the different cultures as is so often the case is complete rubbish.
Classic sketch on the topic for those who speak German:
