Hey Gigi, i feel the same way about how hard it is for a single girl in SG. We are forever waiting for the chinese guys to take the initiatives but they rarely did. Of course to be fair, it is not as if i will be comfortable approaching someone i noticed from a distance. the white's are mostly not so great looking and plus they come in pairs with all the asian girls.
so a single ,goodlooking girl who is not excatly a rocket scientist but fairly intelligent has got no chance whatsoever.
think i should move to Burma, atleast the booze is cheap.

Why don't you try the Indians out here? I mean the Indian Indians (expats/foreign students). Being one myself (though I have spent some of my years in Canada), I know enough to know that they are generally forthcoming and kinda nice to talk to - at least not boring! And they are generally nice people.. at least better than what some of the threads here make us look like.

Boy can i relate to what you say here!!!
I am begining to realise that the key is to slowly but surely find new and different ways of meeting people, just to meet people, without expectations that you will meet 'THE ONE'. Keep an open mind about ALL races and ALL ages. If we go just by appearances, we will get nada.

Also, friends could do more.. they need to look out for you and to organise get togethers with people they know to be single (and hopefully not whankers!)

heya girlie, there're are good guys who are busy at work, hence you don't see them around very much, by the end of the day, they are so bored they just go home. There are good English-speaking bilingual Chinese guys who are way too into work, find one guy who appreciates some breather space and relaxation.. maybe someone who shows up at EAST COAST PARK... hey! whaadya know... girl, just go up to him, hang around the place that he buys a drink from or something and just see if you have any eye-contact. Take it as a project, for 2 weeks.. if anything good turns up, let us know, I'd be happy for ya too. SO NEVER FRET!
