Good Gynaecologist in Singapore for fertility issues

Post by Virgo20 » Sat, 12 May 2012 2:04 pm

Hi,

I we have just moved to Singapore. I am on a Dependent Pass here.
I had been diagnosed for PCOS earlier and we have been trying to have a baby for a while now. Can someone please suggest a good gynaecologist who I can consult here.
Also our medical insurance does not cover us for pregancy related treatment. Is that common practice? Any suggestions on how we shud manage the hospital bills are welcome.
Looking forward to hearing from you all.
Thanks

I recommend Dr. Selina Chua at Mt E. I too was diagnosed with PCOD and tried for 3 years, before meeting Dr. Chua. I am now the happy mother of a beautiful 3 month old.

Her first time consultation fee is around 130, and subsequent visits at 80. going in just for scans for follicular study costs around 40 a visit.

She is extremely professional. One thing though, if you are going in looking for someone to talk in a comforting way, reassure you etc. then she might be the wrong person. She tells it like it is and always gives you the facts and nothing more.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Dr. Selina Chua's name came up multiple times in my online search for a good gynaecologist. There appear to be many people who vouch for her knowledge and professionalism but an equal number who seem to dislike her!
I have taken an appointment with Dr. Heng in her Bedok clinic. Let's see how that goes, else I will seek an appointment with Dr Selena.
Thanks again.

Both Dr Heng and Dr Selina Chua have very very busy practices so once in a while some of us are not going to get 5 star bedside manners.

Dr. Sheila Loh of Raffles Hospital. I think she's the head of fertility or IVG dept there :)
