I have very little eyebrow hair due to genetics mostly, and also plucking when I shouldn't have plucked it at all. Nowadays I've been drawing my brows and doing a fine job too (practice makes perfect!).
I've already tried eyebrow embroidery (twice!) but because I have shiny skin the colour doesn't stay and fades off after a few months. (Anyway it's PAINFUL to do it and up close and personal, it looks fake).

Hi there Miss Swan... There should be quite a few specialist doctors (mainly dermatologists, like the one mentioned by Tom Cat) that can help you out with this procedure. The technique itself is exactly the same as the hair transplant procedure used for treating male pattern baldness, except that instead of going back into your scalp, the hair that they take from the back of your head goes into your eyebrows.

One thing to remember is that although the transplanted hair will be growing in a new place on your head, it will retain the same properties as it had before. So you'll have to trim your new eyebrows pretty regularly, or else they'll grow out as long as the rest of the hair on your head.

Aside from this, be sure to ask whomever you see for before and after pictures of cases they've performed before. This'll at least give you an idea of how natural the results will look.

Eyebrow hair is normally thick and stiff in nature. Isn't the back of the hair soft?

And may I also know price range of such a surgery?

I don't need a complete transplant because I still have a litte bit of eyebrow hair. So this means I don't need a lot of skin grafts. But what I do need is to have fillers for wherever the hair's stopped growing. I'm willing to continue drawing my brows for a slight touch up.

The purpose of this transplant is for me to stop looking eyebrow-less when I've cleaned away the pencil marks.

Hi Miss Swan... You've actually got me feeling my own eyebrows now to see how coarse they are I've heard from some of the people who do the procedure that the finer hairs actually match up better in terms of absolute thickness -- that is, they're the ones that are closest to the thickness of the real eyebrow hairs. But if you ask me, using the finer hairs might also make it easier for them to create a denser look, which is what most of the patients are looking for in the first place. They may have to put a few more of the hairs in, but this will probably end up looking more natural than a smaller number of coarser hairs. Also, since it's a fair bet that only a percentage of the transplanted hairs will actually "take" (albeit a very high percentage these days), having a bunch of fine hairs rather than a smaller number of coarse hairs might lower the possibility of losing a couple and having a "hole". Just guessing here, though

Price varies, as many of the docs who do this charge per graft (might be another reason that they opt for a bunch of fine ones, eh? Heh heh). But the doc you're seeing should certainly let you know beforehand exactly how many grafts you will need, as well as the cost per graft, so you will be able to budget accordingly. Really don't know what Dr. Eileen charges, though... I'm quite curious, actually. If you find out, can you let me know?

I think it's popular in Bangkok or Taipei, but in Singapore should be quite costly. I consulted one clinic here that does it, they said about $5k if I remember correctly.

But Im scared of the pain.

This is generally painless, however for those who have lower pain thresholds, an oral sedative can be administered prior to the procedure.
