Thats very useful information akrapovic!
My collection appt at ICA is around mid-may as well. Did not know that post office collection would be so early !!
drumbeaterz, you could possibly try to go this route and get out of your 28 day quandry.
Althought, if an ica appt is already booked, could we change it to postoffice colelction again?
Actually I was too anxious to get it done and did not wait long enough....
Apparently it takes a couple of days for the option to be available to select Singpost as an alternate collection point. I always knew that Singpost was an option but for the past 2 days whenever i checked in the eappointments link, it did not let me select a Singpost location. So I did the ASS thing of assuming that may be Alternate collection site was not an option for New SPRs.
Obviusly I found out just now that my assumption was wrong. I have revised the booking and now I can collect it from Sengkang Singpost as early as 17th April....Hurrah!!!! and many many thanks to everyone for their suggestions...
Cheers

My formalities are next week. Can someone shed some light as to what goes on there?
Medical and all other paperwork has been completed now.
Do we know what our IC number is going to be even though the card has not been issued yet?
Also, how I choose to collect the card from the post office?
Sorry, dont mean to be stupid

You submit your paperwork to the officer, pay your fees, get your thumbprints and they will issue you with a slip which is your "temporary IC". On the slip you will already have an IC number and that will be your identification going forward.
Then next day onwards you login to e-appointment and make appointment to collect your card at ICA (the next slot should be in June) or post office (in a week's time).

And to add on to Kelvin's post, S$6 admin charge for collecting it at the post office..
After completing ur formalities with ICA, wait till the next day noon before logging into ICA's e-appt to schedule an appt for ic collection.

Whichever post office is up to your convenience. The e-appt system has a list of post office for you to choose from.
Once u made an appt, print out the acknowledge slip..Bring that + the collection slip which ICA gave u during the completion of formalities.

took 2 days for the option to be available to select singpost as alternate site for collection. I dont know if this is normal. So if you dont get the option next day then wait for another day or 2

Way to go Calvink. You've been on this board for a long time. Congratulations.
Statistically, it was pretty much a shoe-in affair though. Honestly speaking.

Is it a normal standard that ICA allows PR's eligible to apply to be SC after two years of permanent residence?
