You post in the classifieds on this site. You use Craigslist. If a member (or know one) you post on the bulletin boards of various expat clubs, like the American Club. Hard to sell stuff, though.

Having the same problem myself and sorry to see there are no apparent secrets to success! My experience is:

Craigslist can be OK for selling bog standard stuff but be warned...it's frequented by cheapskates. Honestly I'd rather boil my head than deal with some of these buyers. Their opening line is usually can I have it for half price (and that's when it's advertised at half price to start with!). Even if you think you've agreed a deal, said buyers will fail to turn up like 3 times in a row leaving you waiting around. Honestly it's easier to throw the stuff in the bin than sell it on Craigslist, but if you must, consider marking your ad self-collect/fixed price/serious buyers only.

Expat Auctions is a great idea but you need luck on your side. They charge 25% of the hammer price for selling your stuff, so you need to factor this in when setting your reserve price. If it doesn't sell after 2 auctions, it goes into a 3rd auction with no reserve, so you might end up getting peanuts. My items failed to sell (even though I was told the reserve price was reasonable - less than half the retail price!). I had to deliver my stuff and pick it up again - lucky I have a car otherwise pick up and delivery is extra. They do have quite a specific niche in Asian antiques and high-end furniture, so it's not a place to sell your second hand Ikea stuff

The used sites are all trolled by low-ballers so expect to not get as much as you thought, and expect the process to take longer than you thought.

I've bought items on http://singapore.gumtree.sg/ and it seems to get lots of 'local' eye-balls. I'm not sure if better or worse than ebay / craigslist, best to list on all of them if you are serious to get rid of an item.
