Oh, Hannieroo, welcome to Singers. Sorry you've had that experience here.
If your contract is like most, it should say that your LL is responsible for repairs >$200 or so. Daresay replacing cupboards full of mold fits in that category.
This type of LL WILL cut off their nose to spite their face no matter how stupid the issue.
I think you should get your company to start sending some demanding letters. That may help.

You're screwed. All odds are on LL's side here in Singapore, so in most cases he can just tell you to piss off with your demands and enjoy your stay with what you have. You won't be able to sue him anyway.

Screwed with my demands? I think if they want a fight I'm freak fit for it. I've been here before and I was patient and easy going and all it got me was medi vacced with carbon monoxide poisoning whilst pregnant. No.

Screwed for sure if you don't do anything. Such discouraging posts are s part of the problem. I recall at least some messages on this forum where people managed to recover withheld deposits and typically good things are not reported. It appears that the LLs are not that almighty afterall.

Go hard. Make their (the agents and the owners) life miserable. Remember a good Asian negotiation leaves no one happy.
IF your company has a HR dragon lady - get her in the act as well.
Start by drafting small claims court demands - there's nothing to stop you making multiple claims in the small court over every single issue!

I'm not having it. Our agent is the company one and he is creaming off every expat they bring in and doing nothing whilst the other side think we'll either live like tinkers or pay through the nose. Not bloody likely. He actually said when we pointed an identical house on the market since last summer for almost $1000 less that it was probably haunted.
Anyway, I need a hobby.

i hear your pain. one suggestion. start writing down every single communication with time and date, like a blog. also write down as much as you can on previous events from when you sign the contract and moving in, etc. therefore you will have a clear record of everything.
if you going to publish it as a blog, show it to the LL. just tell the LL that you got bad memory so the blog will help you remember what's been said and done, etc.

I do love you people. I don't blog but I think I'll start. I have everything noted with photographs. It just shouldn't be this hard. I rented for years in the US and when I went home to have my youngest and never had an issue.

Don't lough at it. We rented our previous place at least 0.5k below the market price because somebody was murdered in that
condo (not that very apartment) while still under development.

Was there a ghost? I understand unpleasantness lowers a
property's desirability but any professional that uses the word supernatural deserves to be laughed at.

Not that we noticed and it was the best place we stayed so far in Singapore. If only it was not sold to a new owner who moved in himself we would be still living there. Our agent did not say it was haunted but clearly tried to discourage us.
BTW, looking for something else I found this masterpiece:

Drama seeks > drama finds, that's my experience in landlording.
If you want to unjustly blow up some huge issue, then expect to get it back in spades (particularly considering the vengefulness of some Singaporeans).
Your temperament seems very aggressive and 'in your face', making enemies at every turn. I don't imagine that makes life in Sg any easier for you... something for you to ponder maybe?

Couldn't get through the first season of House, the lead's role was way too overplayed and predictable to enjoy it past one or two episodes.
...I'll get my coat......

I don't think she's a drama queen at all. I think she's paying market rate, had an agreement and feels justifiably pissed. Maybe you haven't been here for a long time and forgot how vacuous these agents and LL are?
