A poor chap walked across some sticky rubber under the sink and got stuck. When I found him he was powder. Looked like he had been zapped by a laser in a scifi movie and turned to dust.

Can be tough being a gecko.

Yeah, some of them have a real death wish. I've heard of them ending up quartered by the cat, getting splatted by a kitchen cupboard door and, everyone's favorite, getting grilled in the bread toaster.

I ought to update my post on the (very few) things I miss about Singapore to include geckos. I often found they had more personality than some of the people there, and they were a damn site more efficient at doing their job in many cases too.

Freak gecko accidents are quite a riot! Situation watching a serious movie when a gecko near ceiling hit the fan breaks its tail, the wriggling tails falls on the floor and scares the hell out of everyone.

My house on the other hand in Bangalore was a haven for David Attenborough.

Thankfully the gekkos have finally showed up at some spots near our condo which are infested, in the real sense of the word, with cuccarachas to the point of which I've next seen before.

Need more gekkos.

Reminds me of a movie night (small private party) at the US Embassy in Kathmandu. About ten of us in a room watching Rambo - First Blood (i.e. pt.1, back when that was a new release). I leaned back on the sofa and brought a heavy curtain rail down right on my head. The others were laughing, at me being caught up in the fabric etc., until I got it off with blood spuming everywhere.... the irony is that in the film Rambo rather nauseatingly stitches up his own wounds, and here was me and the others all almost passing out ...

Being in the US Embassy, are you sure it wasn't a live feed from Iraq or somewhere !

Long time ago now, 30 years...
The weird thing was they stitched it up, and then under the stitches they secured a thing like a tampon. (!?). Then a bandage over around my head, and also down/around my chin. A bit OTT for a 1-2" gash.

Of course next thing I dig was smash my 'Tampax' on a door-jam and almost take half my scalp off. Agh!!!.... Really... not... fun ....
