Btw, things like 700 tons of water, 30 tons of salt and such - these are in abundance in Lugansk even under siege. WTF???

On the plus side the smokescreen that has lasted for a quarter of a century has finally cleared and the world can see Russia for what it truly is. About time the bs stopped because nothing has changed over there...

Putin said today Russia can quit human rights organization and can use nuclear weapon if needed. Not joking.

Also he said he "wants" to stop Ukrainian conflict asap at all costs, it's hard for him to watch how "brother kills brother" in Ukraine.

Has something like this ever happened in history of Earth before???

The West has been tolerating him for way too long. Since he obviously doesn't care about his own people even then maybe it's time to throw in a few symbolic measures. For starters a useful dent in Putin's propaganda machine would be to strip Russia of the rights to host the World Cup. Such regimes don't deserve to host jack...

Plus why not include the immediate families of all persons on the no-go list, especially considering how the likes of Putin or Lawrov like to keep their kids safe in Western nations?

Do you know anything about FIFA? They're much more illegal and corrupt that Putin and his lackeyes.

Of course. Which should make it that much easier to pressure them into "applying some changes."

The law recently went after some company selling match tix, imagine if it was the US authorities applying the foot instead of Brazil and looking into some shady finances throughout the FIFA hierarchy and not just game tix...

There is a civilian war in Ukraine or this article is supposed to be a joke? Wasn't there yet another observation just a few days back of Russian military convoy entering Ukraine? Are Russian citizens Ukrainians or civil war is when one country's citizens fight against another country civilians, then all wars or civil wars or how?

NATO officially saying (and NYtimes reporting it) that Russia has artillery units in Ukraine and firing on Ukrainian positions. I think this has been rather well-known unofficially for a while, but now we have NATO admitting it.

Until Russia says: "We are invading!", NATO will do nothing. Russia will never say that, so the hopes are Ukraine is strong enough to stand for its freedom.

Personally I think the West's response so far has been incredibly weak. Give Russia an inch and they will take a mile.

After reading this article I have a bad feeling that they will annex further territories and create a new "country" encompassing those regions.

The West should have started arming Ukraine months ago...

Interesting article, thx for linking it.

Europe is now dependent on Russian energy. While the Al Gore equivalents in the EU were busy spending taxes on windmills, wave power and the like, they should have been building more nuclear. Now instead, what a fine mess we're in, beholden to Putin and his empire-building.

Moreover, by imposing such a laughable sanctions on Russia West made 86% of Russians think that Russia is extremely strong and invincible. So there is no stop to the war machine now.

Btw, ATO is over. War begins!

P.S.: Lugansk airport was captured yesterday. Information about first bombing of Ukrainian town is out already today (still to be confirmed). What capturing an airport means to Ukraine and why Ukrainians were holding the airport so stubbornly? Simply: now Russia can say "rebels have captured Ukrainian airplanes" and it can send as much aviation as it wants to Ukraine to bomb whatever it wants. For UN it will say "its not us, its rebels" (rebels!!?????? == terrorists) For most European countries - these words is all they need to resist sanctioning Russia.
