scuba diving lessons

New back in town and I've always wanted to take up scuba diving. Done lots of snorkeling and time to take it to the next"deeper" level.

I'm hoping to get a small group together to go take lessons and hopefully dive around the region.

no i haven't. I plan to check out some places this sat for ideas. wouldn't mind the company as well. there is another person that PM'd interest but like yourself is really busy.

remember guys, an Open Water course from PADI will only take a few lessons, so not much of an investment in time needed, except for the theory / homework of course.

not sure what you mean, "fish tank". i actually expected no responses. so this is good.

and i am glad that you are one of them, you silly.

I thought you were looking for diving khakis to go "actively hunting" with you. But what you got is people like me, who are interested, but err.. you know, busy at the moment..

Hi,

called around and seems that everyone is offering pretty much the same deal - 6 hrs theory and 6 hrs practical at the pool (mainly at Otram Secondary School).

You can break up the hours into whatever works best for you or you can get a crash course in one weekend.

I'm thinking it'll be fun to learn with some friends but not necessary. But the island trip would be more fun with a group of people that you might know.

Oh ya, the cost is between $425 - $490 and island trips are to pulau au/ tioman/ dayang.

Guess the last thing to do is sign up with one operator.

If you get a group of people together who're going to be taking it, I might be able to get you a good deal. I can't promise to shave off hundreds, but if you save a little money, I'm sure you'd be happy.

I can confirm Ko tao is good and inexpensive for diving, also to do your Open Water PADI over there. The place is a backpacker heaven, full of wannabees and drugs, but underneath the surface it gets quite interesting

Big bubble Ko Tao diving is a recommended diving operator there.
