How to find a good agent, reccomendations?

Hello. Excuse my ignorance.. i'm looking for property agent as i've just arrived and need to find a place to rent. I'm looking somewhere between Chinatown and Beuna Vista.

Would anyone kindly fill me in on how I can find a good agent to search on my criteria, any tips or recommendations?

Any answers welcome. Thanks!

The existing tenant breaking lease ASAP (lease started 01 Jan.....2 year lease...no diplomatic clause).
New tenant (me) takes out 1 yr lease...
